Transport and Communication
Cutting coal is one thing, but moving it around provides a different set of challenges. From coal sleds and conveyors to wagons and winders, this section is about getting the coal, men and materials to where they are needed. Communicating information is the key to safe working above and below ground. Information comes in many forms. Posters, plans and telephone systems all help information to be passed around the mine.
