6 June 2015, 1.00pm – 3.00pm
To mark the publication of Brian Elliott’s latest book Images of the Past: Coalminers, the National Coal Mining Museum for England is hosting a free event on 6th June 1pm-3pm.
Brian will be in conversation with fellow author Mel Dyke discussing his latest book and how he chose the images which give the reader a unique insight into the miner, his family and his work. Many of the images, which range from woodcuts and engravings to photographs, have come from Brian’s personal collection which he has accumulated over many years of research.
Brian will be signing copies of his book which will be available for purchase on the day. Visitors will also be able to browse the Library which will be open throughout the day and there will be a display of postcards from the Museum’s collection.
Author Brian Elliot comments,
