Brass Bands: Summer Series

Celebrate the association between brass bands and coal mining, with a summer series of musical performances.

Live music will be brought to you by the following bands for scheduled performances:

Sun 27 July – Huddersfield and Ripponden Brass Band
11.45am-12.30pm, 1.30pm-2.15pm & 3pm-3.45pm

Huddersfield and Ripponden Brass Band are based in Golcar, Huddersfield and are part of the Huddersfield Youth Brass Ensemble Association which comprises of a youth and senior band.

Sat 2 August – Uppermill Band
11am-11.40am, 12.10pm-12.50pm & 1.20pm-2pm

Uppermill Band, based in the heart of Saddleworth, was formed in March 1979. From small beginnings and with hard work and consistency over the past 45 years, Uppermill Band has progressed, achieving numerous successes on the contest stage, entertaining audiences through many public performances.

Sun 3 August – Tingley Band
1.30pm-2.10pm & 2.50pm-3.30pm

Tingley Band is a vibrant brass band based in the heart of West Yorkshire.

Sun 10 August – Thurlstone Brass Band
12.30pm-1.30pm & 2pm-3pm

Thurlstone Brass Band, formed in 1854 as Millhouse Musical Society is a friendly band for players of all ages and abilities. 

Sunday 17 August – Dodworth Colliery Brass Band
11.45am-12.30pm, 1.30pm-2.15pm & 3pm-3.45pm

Dodworth Colliery Brass Band is celebrating 189 years of making music and supporting their local community in 2024, they are a friendly band that plays as a team.
