A Homage to Miners
Discover a striking new exhibition by London based artist Ruth Kersley, featuring stained glass works installed throughout the museum café windows, alongside framed artworks exploring the lives, labour and legacy of Britain’s mining communities.
Created over a decade, the collection draws on documentary footage, historic mining photography and personal sketches to illuminate the human stories behind the coal industry. The artist uses stained glass as a contemporary storytelling medium, transforming light, colour and fractured form into portraits of miners.
