The Yorkshire Brick Show brings a world of LEGO to the National Coal Mining Museum for England

The Yorkshire Brick Show will return to the National Coal Mining Museum for England with a fantastic LEGO exhibition for bank holiday weekend, 2 – 4 May 2015, coinciding with the Tour de Yorkshire.

Throughout the day visitors will be able to help Fairy Bricks build a huge LEGO mosaic, take a stroll down Brick Street Market to grab a bargain or some personalised LEGO products and visit the live workshops with master builders ready to share a whole range of building techniques.

The museum will also be host to two world record attempts: ‘Most LEGO bricks assembled underground to make a model’ and ‘Deepest underground depth for a LEGO model to be built.’ The show will feature some impressive creations from Adult fans of LEGO (AFOL) from around the world, with a whole range of LEGO universe themes including city layouts, trains, Star Wars.

When it’s time to take a break, spend some time learning about the LEGO Story at Brick Street Cinema or head to the Brick Build Zone where adults can sit down and relax while the kids put their new found skills to the test as they play with the huge collection of LEGO bricks.

The event will take place in various locations around the museum. Admission to the museum is FREE, however visitors will need to purchase tickets if they wish to visit the main LEGO exhibition from www.yorkshirebrickshow.co.uk – tickets are not available to buy directly from the museum.

The museum will be open as usual over the weekend, allowing visitors to enjoy the depths of an underground miner’s tour or explore the galleries and exhibitions after their LEGO experience. A trip to the new Asparagus Green café will likely be in order after such a packed day of events, and with a great selection of hot and cold snacks available, appetites won’t be disappointed.

Tickets cost £6.50 and can be purchased from www.yorkshirebrickshow.co.uk.
