The National Coal Mining Museum for England to host special Wacky Wednesday for Under 5s: Mini Miners Super Hero Summer Special

As part of National Play Day, the National Coal Mining Museum for England will be hosting their annual Wacky Wednesday special event for Under 5s; Mini Miners Super Hero Summer Special on Wednesday 3 August. This year’s theme is in line with the Museum’s Heroes and Heroines exhibition and will include an action packed event programme to keep the little ones entertained.

The event will take place from 10:15 – 12:15, children are invited to come in the fancy dress of their favourite superhero (optional), and take part in storytelling, rhymes, songs, plus get hands on with crafting their own superhero and mining crafts and so much more. The Mini Miners Super Hero Summer Special will take place in the Museum’s Hope Pit, and all attendees will have the chance to ride on the Museum train and meet their first mining hero, who drives a train!

Tickets for the sessions cost £5 per person, with babies 6 months and under free of charge. The bookable session could be part of a full day out at the Museum, with opportunities to visit the pit ponies and the Under 5's play area. The Museum also has a family-friendly cafe for drinks and delicious freshly made food and light snacks to fill up on throughout the day.
