Collections Review Assistant
National Coal Mining Museum for England (NCMME) is looking for a methodical, organised and dynamic individual to join our Collections Team to work with our amazing Industrial Heritage collection of mining machinery.
As the Collections Review Assistant you will be responsible for carrying out a full collections review of the Industrial Heritage collection looking at ways in which we can improve engagement with the collection, the conservation needs of items and how to better manage and display the objects in our care.
The post is funded through the John Ellerman Foundation with an important part of the project being the recording of personal experiences of working with these machines from our Mine Guides (all former miners).
The Museum is the gateway to a rich heritage and unique collections which provide inspiration and a wealth of opportunities for learning and fun. You will play an important part in making our collections accessible, for unlocking the stories and bringing this heritage and the associated collections to life for our visitors and communities.
To apply, please send your CV and covering letter (max. 2 sides A4) outlining your relevant experience, motivation and how you meet the Person Specification to katie.cavanagh@ncm.org.uk by 29 June 2025, 5pm
