A digital photograph of the Kellingley colliery branch banner at the start of the NUM Demonstration and Gala procession in Barnsley town centre. The demonstration and gala was held in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Miners’ Strike at Locke Park, Barnsley on Saturday 1st May 2004.
Regional galas followed a similar format to the Durham Gala with a procession of bands and banners followed by speeches and an afternoon of activities and competitions.
