Due to the forecasted high winds, the Museum will be closed today (Sunday 25 October 2026).
The safety of our visitors, staff, and volunteers must always come first. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Museum on Wednesday 28 October.
This poster, illustrated by Arthur Atkinson, has a poem and drawings in its centre, surrounded by signatures and professions of everyone working at the colliery, saying farewell to the colliery owners upon the occasion of Nationalisation.
