Villagers: Sculpting the Community

A colourful and creative new exhibition inspired by Betty Miller’s sculptural tableau My Village displayed in full for the first time in over twenty years. Artists Lenny and Whale have collaborated with participants from ex mining communities to create contemporary sculptural and digital works that respond to Miller’s vision of village life.

The resulting exhibition will debut at the Museum, celebrating creativity, heritage and community identity, before travelling to the Mining Art Gallery, Bishop Auckland.
