The National Coal Mining Museum for England is seeking to appoint Museum Guides – Electricians and Fitters
About the role
We are seeking to make a number of temporary appointments for suitably qualified electricians and fitters to carry out duties as set out on the role description. The appointments are initially for the period July to September (with options to extend) and hours are, at this stage, negotiable.
Key Responsibilities
- Must have practical experience of mining and specific experience of underground working, gained through working in that industry as a qualified fitter or electrician.
- Must have knowledge and awareness of mining and mining history and be prepared to share such knowledge with members of the public.
- First class inter-personal and communication skills coupled with a diplomatic but effective manner when dealing with visitors with different needs.
- The post-holder must be constantly aware of and able to ensure that they work to stringent statutory and safety requirements in order to ensure the safety of visitors.
