Magical Music Workshops (with Kidology Arts)

Join us as we celebrate our new exhibition, Aria of the Canaries, with magical music workshops led by musician and composer Amanda Johnson.

Saturday 16 August – The Whistling Mountains 

Come with us as we explore the amazing whistling language of the Canary Islands, called El Silbo, and create beautiful soundscapes using fun instruments like glass harps and bird whistles. Together, we’ll bring the sounds of the mountains to life — with canaries, echoes, and lots of imagination!

Saturday 23 August – La Jota

Feel the beat and dance to La Jota! Join musician Amanda Johnson for a fun, hands-on workshop where you’ll explore La Jota – a lively traditional dance from the Canary Islands! Use exciting instruments like castanets and canary whistles to create your own rhythms and dance along.

These workshops are especially suited to ages 5-12 years.
