Lego Robotics Workshop
Love LEGO? Keen on coding? Build and program a robot to navigate a collapsed mine tunnel or transport coal, and learn how to make it move in these creative programming workshops. No experience required. Run by IzWiz Robotics.
Step into the shoes of an engineer from the past. Design, build, and program to safely rescue Lego miners or transport coal, using the power of modern technology!
Perfect for ages 7-14 years, solve problems and challenge yourself with following tasks in these IzWiz Robotics workshops.
Workshop One (Summer Holidays) – Sat 26 & Sun 27 July
You will design and program a robot coal cart to efficiently transport Lego “coal” from the mine, competing in both speed and stability. Get creative and solve problems to optimise your systems for maximise how much how much ‘coal’ it can pull!
Workshop Two (Emergency Services Weekend) – Sat 6 & Sun 7 September
You will design and program a robot to navigate a collapsed mine tunnel and rescue trapped Lego miners using IZWIZ robotics. By integrating sensors to detect obstacles and avoid debris, you’ll experience the challenges of real-world rescue missions in a hands-on, interactive environment.
These workshops mimic the early innovations in mining technology, all while learning the fundamentals of robotics, programming, and engineering.
