Community Volunteer

Join Our New Community Volunteer Team!

Help bring the Museum’s stories to life for everyone in our community.

We’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to support sensory storytelling sessions both at the Museum and out in the community.

You’ll be working with:

•  Adults with additional needs
•  Individuals living with dementia
• SEND young people
• Community groups from former coalfield areas

Using sensory resources and engaging stories inspired by mining heritage, you’ll help make our historic collections accessible, inclusive and meaningful for everyone.

This is a great opportunity to:

•  Gain experience in community work and the heritage sector
•  Make a real difference in people’s lives
•  Be part of a supportive and enthusiastic team
