We’re pleased to announce the winners of our Photography Competition!

The winning entry of the Over 16s category is Daniel Firth. The photo was taken on Saturday 22nd June 2025 at the 1940s weekend. “The reason I like this photo is because it feels almost timeless with the gentleman reading and doing a crossword in his newspaper (simpler times) – whilst the classic cars against the industrial backdrop created what I felt was an interesting composition – his red shirt provided a pop of colour against the more muted tones of the cars and roller shutters”.
The winning entry of the Under 16s category is Evelyn. “This image captures a haunting yet powerful presence, with the dramatic lighting giving the horse statue an almost ghosty quality. I love how the darkness around it enhances the sense of mystery and history, making it feel like a tribute to the strength and spirit of mining heritage”.
