Although Underground Tours will be unavailable during this period, theMuseum Remains Open, and continues to share the important history of coal mining with our visitors. A centrifugal fan that was used as the standby fan on the surface at Hope Pit near Caphouse.
The fan is a drum shape with the side of the drum made of angled vanes. Inside the drum are six support bars that link the central shaft to the outside edge of the drum.
