Following further negotiations with UNISON,industrial action, largely affecting our Underground Tours, is confirmed to take place until Sunday 12 October. Although Underground Tours will be unavailable during this period, theMuseum Remains Open, and continues to share the important history of coal mining with our visitors. A medal produced by the London Midland Scottish Railway Company and awarded to those railway workers that continued to keep the trains running during the 1926 General Strike. The medal was designed by Ernest Gillick and produced by the Royal Mint.
