Voysey & the story of Whitwood Colliery buildings
Discover three remarkable pieces of furniture designed by the celebrated Arts and Crafts architect and designer Charles Francis Annesley Voysey (1857–1941).
Originally commissioned in 1904 for the Miners’ Welfare Institute at Whitwood Colliery, West Yorkshire, the oak table and chairs are an exquisite example of Voysey’s work in a community setting.
The furniture has now been lovingly restored to its former glory, allowing us to share its story and the story of Whitwood Colliery buildings with future generations.
