Following further negotiations with UNISON,industrial action, largely affecting our Underground Tours, is confirmed to take place until Sunday 12 October. Although Underground Tours will be unavailable during this period, theMuseum Remains Open, and continues to share the important history of coal mining with our visitors. This lamp is a development on the Type 7 series. It has a magnetic lock, a round wick and has air shutoff sliders on the mid and bottom rings which could control airflow into the lamp.
