The Museum is open Wednesday to Sunday, 9.45am-4pm
Following further negotiations with UNISON,industrial action, largely affecting our Underground Tours, is confirmed to take place until Wednesday 8 July 2026. Although Underground Tours will be unavailable during this period, theMuseum Remains Open, and continues to share the important history of coal mining with our visitors. Please note: On Saturday 21 March, all entry to the museum is ticketed on this date. Dino Discovery Day entry is £15 per car, which includes access to the Dino Discovery Day activities, live shows, walkabouts and museum grounds. A limited number of tickets will be available on the day, but parking will be very limited. If you’re planning to visit without a ticket, we recommend arriving from 11am onwards.
