Join poet Sarah Wimbush to use photographs, objects, and poems from the time to create new writing about women’s roles during the strike – from organisers of support groups and pit canteens to their experiences as pickets and campaigners.

£10 per person, pre-booking advised. Suitable for ages 16+. Select the March date for this workshop.

Please note: You don’t have to identify as a woman to attend this workshop.

Sarah Wimbush is a Yorkshire poet. Her first collection, Shelling Peas with My Grandmother in the Gorgiolands, was published with Bloodaxe in 2022.  She recently had poems published in PN Review and the Morning Star and her forthcoming collection, STRIKE (Stairwell, 2024), commemorates the 40th anniversary of the miners’ strike 1984-85.
