Come along to one of our Home Educator workshops, experiencing hands-on activities covering topics including History, Science and Art!
|10th January, 13th March & 20th March||Science focus - Find out how coal was formed, make a fossil and discover the machinery that was used to get coal from underground to the surface. Get involved with the science behind mining by having a go at experiments.|
Arts focus - Unleash your creative side and be inspired by the safety posters in the Museum's collection. Use relief painting techniques to create a poster that highlights the dangers of mining.
Arts focus - Enjoy an exclusive visit to our special art exhibition and be inspired to create a piece of art that reflects the Museum and the contents of the exhibition.

Each workshop has capacity for 20 children (ideal for ages 6-11 years) and accompanying adults. Due to the popularity of previous events, ensure that you book your place on one of our workshops by calling us on 01924 848806.
To make a full day of your visit, why not go underground after your workshop for £2 per person, explore the galleries and nature trail and pay a visit to the ponies!
