Enjoy the shades, sights and sounds of the winter countryside around and beyond the Museum in this two hour circular walk, down local roads and country lanes (with some inclines). Uncover the shadows of our mining past in a landscape reclaimed by nature, and seeped in stories of characters that made the history of Caphouse Colliery and the surrounding areas so captivating. From Lady Matilda who ran the mine while her husband hunted and fished, to lovers who took advantage of the mineral railway line to court.
