The Museum offers inspiring hands-on learning activities for KS3, KS4 and KS5 pupils.
In addition to the Underground Experience, we offer workshops in these key subject areas:
- History - the Industrial Revolution and child labour, local history
- Science/Environmental Science - minewater treatment plant and reed beds
- Art - industrial landscapes, drawing underground, artist-led workshops
- Leisure and Tourism – tailored talks and presentations
If you do not wish to book a workshop, we have a range of on-site trails and activities to help you explore our inspiring original pit buildings, interactive galleries, exhibitions and Nature Trail.
Entry to our galleries and historic buildings is free; charges apply for the Underground Tour and Workshops.
