Book Your Visit

Step 1 - Check your preferred dates are available
Contact the Bookings Officer on 01924 848806 or email firstname.lastname@example.org, who will check availability for your preferred date (preferably at least 1 month in advance of your visit). It will be useful for you to have the following information to hand when you telephone:
- Name of the group/school with contact name, address and telephone number
- Date(s) you would like to visit
- Time of arrival and departure
- Number and age of the group, including adult supervisors
- Special requirements
* Please note that supervision requirements for Underground Tours are 2 adults: 17 children
Please note that our busiest period is from May - November and we suggest booking well in advance if you would like to visit during this time.
How much will the visit cost?
Pupils can ride the cage 140 metres underground to discover first-hand what life was like as a miner.
- Cost: £2 per person booking fee for the underground tour
- Duration: 1 hour 20 minutes
- Group size/supervision: 2 adults: 17 students
Plus the cost of any workshops you would like to book.

Step 2 - Confirm the booking
After checking your preferred dates are available with our Bookings Officer, you will be sent and asked to return a completed booking form. You can post or email the form to email@example.com.
If we can accommodate your needs, we will then send you final confirmation and times of your Underground Tours and workshops or trails, if you have booked any.

Step 3 - Prepare for your visit
The underground tours and the workshops take place in groups of 17 children and 2 adults. It is helpful if you can organise your party into groups of this size in advance.

We advise all teachers to make a preliminary visit. The learning team will be happy to help you plan your day and can be contacted by telephone on 01924 848806 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Cancellation of bookings
If a workshop is cancelled with less than five days notice, the full amount will be payable. This is to cover staff costs and does not apply to self-led activities.
