Dealing with the Past: Coal, Community and Change (1965-2015) Exhibition

Explore the vital role the Coal Industry played in the lives of people in the East Midlands between 1965 and 2015 from varied perspectives. Understand the developments in machinery and working practice, women in coalmining, the communities of coalmining, their recreational activities, the strikes of the 1970s and 1980s and the legacy of the mining industry. See how these personal experiences and emotions of miners and their families have been captured in the exhibition by Dr Natalie Braber and David Amos of Nottingham Trent University with designer Paul Fillingham.
