Volunteering at the Museum enjoyed a successful year in 2015. Celebrate these achievements by reading our regular volunteering blog. Discover what was happening this time last year whilst looking forward to each month and find out the news about volunteering in 2016. Perhaps you will be inspired to become one of our valued volunteers!

March last year saw our volunteers assist with ‘See How They Run’ as part of British Science Week. Visitors came along to see our giant coal mining machines in action and had the chance to design their own magnificent mining machine.

The Museum’s Director, Mike Benson, will be joining the volunteers at their quarterly meeting to hear their ideas, exchange thoughts and discuss the development of volunteering as a whole.

Easter is set to be a busy time for the volunteers as they facilitate Family Science Day & Moving Machinery on 20 March. The volunteers will be guiding visitors around the site and helping them plan their day; encouraging families to take part in free family activities, including the newly re-vamped art cart for a cracking start to the Easter holidays!
