Volunteer Stories - Billy and Natasha
Posted on by Anita O'Donovan
In the run-up to our volunteer open day on 18th May, we're going to be sharing stories of our current and past volunteers, and what the experience has meant to them. Today, we're hearing from one of our current volunteers, Billy, as well as one of our former volunteers, Natalie.
I've been here 5 years in July and was an engineer before came. I thought I could help out building machines out getting them back into view for the public. I enjoy coming on a Wednesday because as I'm on own it's been an experience that I have enjoyed. Billy Sutcliffe, current volunteer.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to volunteer at NCM. I gained so much confidence, met some awesome people who have so much passion in what they do for the community it's a fantastic place to come and work. Best thing I ever did. I now work for Kirklees Active Leisure front of house as a customer advisor. I really didn't have the confidence before I started to volunteer and the help and support that they all give. Natalie, a former volunteer.
If, like Billy and Natalie, you're keen to spend your free time helping out here at the Museum, then come along to our volunteer open day on 18th May from 10am - 2pm and learn about some of the volunteer roles that we offer, including roles as a nature volunteer, a family volunteer and a heritage volunteer.
