Did miners only have to know how to dig?
The Hope Pit Explore team have launched a new interactive exploration of our restored Victorian Colliery. The combined skills of their former mining jobs means that this team of volunteers are able to support visitors and each other as they reveal the depth and range of skills that miners possessed in order to ‘get the coal’.
Listen up, have a go and ask as many questions as you like so that when you finally enter the Lister-Kaye mineral roadway and receive your ‘deployment’ card you will know exactly what to do!
Thursdays 12.30 and 2pm throughout the school holidays.
Donations are welcome.
Limited to 12 places per session.
Book early to avoid disappointment.
Trust Mother Nature
Alan, former mining electrician and NCM volunteer will lead a tour of the Reed Beds every Tuesday at 2pm.
Discover Mother Nature’s hairbrush and some of her smallest creations that live amongst the reeds and be surprised by just how old she really is!
Meet on the bridge between Hope Pit and the Beach.
