Childrens' Community Christmas Party : Preparations

Week 3 of Preparations

Hello, so this week’s blog will tell you how hard we have been working.

This week we found out we are going to be helping the Variety charity by donating toys for 6 to 11 year olds who are in need of help. If you would like to help this wonderful charity, donate to the National Coal Mining Museum.

It is 2 weeks before the party and the preparations are well under way.

If you visit the National Coal Mining Museum there is a wish tree, but it’s not a wish for you, it’s a wish for someone else who is not as lucky as us.

This week we have also been looking at the prices on the ASDA website to see what we can buy for the party.

We can’t wait because it is only two weeks away [Time fly’s when you’re having fun!]

Today we have found out that we will be making our own badge so the other children will know our names. We have sorted the order of the party out and it sounds amazing! We can’t wait!

Thank you for reading this week’s blog. I hope you enjoyed it, and wish us luck in the planning of the rest of the party.

Week 2 of Preparations

Hi everyone, this is week 2 of our blog on planning the Christmas party.

We are from Middlestown Junior School in Year 5, and we will be keeping you up to date with this event each week.

This week year 5 have worked their socks off making decorations and planning activities. We have made lots of different decorations such as paper chains and snowflakes and the class are really excited, hopefully the other children are as well.

Thank you for reading this week’s blog, make sure you watch out for next week's!

Week 1 of Preparations

Hi everyone, this is week 1 of our blog on planning the Christmas party for Year 1 and 2 children.

We are from Middlestown Junior School in Year 5, and we will be keeping you up to date with this event each week.

All Year 5 will be preparing for the Christmas party at the National Coal Mining museum. This is a special event that is based on the miners’ strike where everyone gave to the miners children. They were given things such as plastic watches.

We are going to make Christmassy decorations and we have a £150 budget to spend on food, decorations, props, drinks, activities/crafts. Do you think there is going to be enough?

We have already started to make the decorations for the party to save time. We have been making them in our art lesson. Because we have to set up the party, we will be going there early to get this party started!!!

The party will be on the 15th December.

The true meaning of Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Jesus, but on this occasion it will be different as it is about helping others.
