Brand new summer holiday pit pony workshop!

Posted on

We’ve recruited a professional story teller to work with families in the summer holidays for a brand new story writing session.

In relation to our brand new special exhibition: The Path of the Ponies, professional story teller Jenny Dockett will work with families during the summer holidays to create their very own pit pony stories.

Jenny loves telling stories! She has been telling stories as part of her job for 15 years and appeared in the Edinburgh International Storytelling Festival in 2002 with Stories in the Stars.

More recently Jenny has been telling stories around the campfire as part of Wilderness Schooling, a program designed to re-engage children with their learning.

Jenny is a great addition to our activities team this summer with a love of stories, a love of ponies and mining in her blood.

Families can book this exciting activity for just £4 (per family) and get their creative juices flowing in memory of those hard working pit ponies of the past.

Join Jenny on Wednesday’s and Thursday’s from 3rd - 21st August at 11:30 or 13:30. Book your slot on the day at reception for this 45 minute session based in our new exhibition itself!
