The National Coal Mining Museum for England receives grant-in-aid funding from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport towards its revenue costs, but is reliant on donations, sponsorship, legacies and grants in order to develop and expand.
The Museum is a member of the Fundraising Standards Board (FRSB), the self-regulatory body for fundraising in the UK. As an FRSB scheme member, the Museum has agreed to adhere to the highest standards of good practice in its fundraising and a Fundraising Promise.
