Loans Boxes
The Museum’s loan boxes are available free of charge and contain objects, information and activities that stimulate curiosity and provide a hands-on approach to learning.

Loans boxes may be borrowed for up to a month at a time. To book a box, please contact the Assistant Education Officer on 01924 848806.

CD ROM – The Science of Mining
An interactive whiteboard resource, which brings primary science alive through coal mining. Includes worksheets, resources, video clips and interactive games.

My Learning
Visit www.mylearning.org and discover a new resource, Coal Mining and the Victorians, created by the Museum’s Education Team. This web resource provides images, information, primary evidence and activities relating to coal mining before and after the Coal Mines Act of 1842, which prevented women and children under 10 from working underground.

These resource packs have been created to provide further information and ideas for classroom activities, following one of our living history workshops. Each are priced £2.50 and can be purchased from the Museum shop. Choose from:
